Using Aadhar to tackle some National issues

Some time back there was a discussion for Aadhar and privacy. We understand the concern but this is need of time to use Aadhar wherever we can use to solve the real-life problem and make our country better.

How to solve following few problems using Aadhar.

1.      Tracking Black Money

2.      Finding Real beneficiary of govt scheme and subsidies

3.      Finding Real beneficiary of the Reservation system 

Tracking Black Money

We all know that linking of Pan Card, Bank Account with Aadhar we can easily know how much money is coming to that person in the account. And if we expense using a credit card or debit card, wallets etc. that also records also goes to CIBIL hence we calculate and figure out individual people income and expense but what if someone using cash to buy land, gold etc.

And if you buy gold etc. more than some limit then you must provide some id card but still, data is scattered.

So, what if we do mandatory to provide Aadhar for few more places than this data can be used more appropriate way.

But nowadays people are very smart, and they don’t do these stuffs in their name instead they use some near relative or distant relative name to keep the money, buy land or jewelry so now bigger black money will divide in low part and hence it will be tough to catch.

Current when we enroll in Aadhar we don’t give relative names or their Aadhar id (only exception if you are minor or you don’t have proof of identity or address). So, we cannot find what is family income and expense.

If we can modify this process and get some relative Aadhar ID on the same form then we can build a graph or family tree and as We can have data for all major expenses and major income as we all know banks send all details to CIBIL and link to each node and People file ITR that data can help here, Land Records are digitized that will also help. Flats and home purchase records can help.

If we can mine all data and then we can get much more insights, then current insight and we can track black money.

Finding Real beneficiary of govt scheme and subsidies

We know that getting details of the individual is not much helping to find our real beneficiary who need help. But if we have details of the family then we can easily find that this family does not need help or subsidy from govt. and that money can be used for the different place. I have seen a lot of people getting benefited from scheme such as loan waiver but they family income is much more than one normal earning family. Another example can be small farmer get a subsidy on different products for farming but same is being used by the bigger farmer who really doesn’t need this.

Finding Real beneficiary of the Reservation system

if during job application or any place where people use reservation system based on caste/religion if before providing the benefit of reservation system Validate family income etc. and then based on data provide reservation benefit that will make more sense to needed people.

The solution will be much more complex then here I have written but wanted to give the basic idea.

There are security and privacy concern and we must handle these very carefully but if we do it can help in long-term.
