Using a 360-Degree Camera in Construction – Reviewing Insta360 X4
Reality capture has become an almost daily activity on construction sites. While a smartphone camera is the most common tool, a 360-degree camera is a more versatile option.
I very seldom do project reviews. However, once Insta360 影石 offered me the chance to test their new X4 360-degree camera, I agreed to take a look. It provides an 8K resolution at a reasonable price.
I took the camera to the National Museum extension construction site. I met with Jukka Lallo from Senate Properties, the client, Markus Suuronen of SRV, the contractor, and Tuomas Hakulinen and Harri Melin from Dalux . We took the camera to the test with Dalux Site Walk.
I also examined other use cases for the Insta360 X4. You can watch a summary video on YouTube or read my blog post, which includes the video.
