USER STATUS MANAGEMENT IN SAP
This document specifically focuses on Extra Control by using User Status besides Standard Status in SAP
WHAT IS THE USER STATUS?
Apart from having System status, SAP has given the option of using User Statuses to enforce the control system. User Status by the name itself, is defined by the user for having further more statuses for the same document apart from existing System statuses.
User Statuses can be defined as per our convenience & as per the business requirements.
I have Explained Step by Step to implement user status functionality in SAP.
Step 1: Create Authorization key

Step 3: assign order status profile to order type
Path: SPRO>PM> Master Data in Plant Maintenance and Customer Service> Maintenance and Service Orders> General Data> User Status for Orders> Define Status Profile> Assign User Status to Order Types
T-Code OIOG
Once we have finished setting up the configuration, the SAP System will look at the authorization objects B_USERSTAT & B_USERST_T for each user to determine the authorization to perform certain processes.
Step 3: role maintenance
Need to maintain the status Profile in the authorization objects for role maintenance
