Use Your Power Ethically

5 February 2023:

I am sure You will remember when as young student Your English teacher would have asked You to write an essay “If I was the President or Prime Minister of the country I will………………….”

It would be such a shift of perspective when You suddenly become the most supreme in the country.

This thirst for supremacy whether in politics or in corporate landscape is a search for power.

The source of power can come from ability to consistently create wealth or from people or from knowledge or from one’s ability to inspire the greatness in others

People who have power have a greater ability to influence and shape outcomes. But at the same time they also have a greater responsibility to use that power ethically for the greater good.

In the ancient times when monarchy was widespread, it was ?Kings roles to promote both the goals of Artha (material well being) and dharma (righteous behaviour)

Arthashastra

Himalaya Yogi Sadguru Sadafal Deo in his writing says that Political strategy (rajniti) applied by a country is successful if both the subjects and ruler leads a happy life. At the same time a niti that creates an unstable world, spreads violence, creates disparity and distrust and results in suffering at large, is devil’s diplomacy.

At times as a leader one has to make decisions that is in Hitam (benefit) of the subjects in long run, but comes across as very tough. E.g. Demonetisation, GST Roll Out, Digitisation drive that kills a cash economy

This week world's largest democracy, India, presented its Budget. India was under colonial rule for 200 years and has bounced back as the 5th largest global economy within 75 years of independence. ?Great leadership !!

It’s a difficult task to balance expectations in an economy which now has world’s top and wealthiest entrepreneurs, a strong and fresh breeze of startup entrepreneurs and at the same time where the GDP per capita is USD 190/INR 15,000 per month.

Tax Policies are looked with great expectations. The Position on Taxation is well define in Vedic science

Just as one plucks fruits from garden as they ripen, so shall the king have revenue collected as it becomes due. Taxes should be collected softly just like a bee sucks honey from flowers without damaging the source.?

Wherever You are, yielding great power from Your position, You have a responsibility for people, who are impacted by your moves.

As a leader you are mostly in a coal mine, you will have to accept that the clothes will get dirty. But Your power should always be guided by someone’s elevated consciousness higher than Yours.

I am gifting 10 copies of below as my contribution towards spreading the ancient vedic wisdom. Please inbox me.

Power is not seen as something external to be acquired or dominated over others, but rather a byproduct of inner peace and wisdom.
