Hey friend ??

This is a repost of our monthly newsletter.?This edition initially went out on March 12. Sign up if you don't want to miss the next one.

This weekend I finally went to see Dune: Part Two. No, our cinema didn’t have the fun popcorn buckets.

And while the movie exceeded my expectations, what keeps entertaining me more is the sheer amount of quality memes that came out of it.

Of course, the editor in me could not keep this one out of her head:

Which is, in all honesty, a very good reminder to all of us next time we are crafting an email, a social media post, or tweaking that piece of copy on our landing page. Check your guidelines and make sure you’re using your tone of voice.

Anyway, enough of my geeky pop culture observations for today, let’s move on to our (mostly) email marketing observations of the month.

Storytelling in SaaS Emails: How to Stand Out in Your Customer’s Inbox

Storytelling is a buzzword. But there’s not really a lot out there on how to use it beyond blogposts and video content.

Our new collection of email examples helps precisely with that: how to integrate storytelling in your user onboarding, product updates, case studies, and newsletters.

BDTP ???

Managing multiple products under one roof is not a common setup, so I’m always curious to see how the teams manage to pull it off.

Tim Schumacher does precisely that with saas.group . His recent conversation with Jane is quite insightful.

Product updates

Since the previous edition of this newsletter, here’s what’s been rolled out:

  • Improved the "Add custom event" dialog on user and company profiles to show available events and to allow you to add custom properties.
  • Fixed a couple of annoyances with pasting links and liquid in the message composer.
  • Added support for custom return paths on sending domains.
  • Improved the UX of adding nodes and triggers to empty workflows. It now doesn't matter where you drop them on the canvas.

This time last year: behavior-based triggers

A short walk down the memory lane says that this time last year we talked about triggers, properties, and events. And what are the good rules of thumb to follow when triggering behavior-based campaign.

If you’re currently tutoring an email newbie, or want to renew the basics, this is the article for you.

From our miscellaneous drawer

  • A good A/B testing article from Jason Cohen for those of us less math-savvy marketers. Spotted in Userlist’s #learning channel thanks to Jane.
  • I’ve been appreciating Joel’s ‘diplomatic yet transparent’ approach to social media for the last (I don’t know how many) years. This thread sheds light on their strategy at Buffer, and I applaud the change, despite my feelings toward the product.
  • If you’re in B2B as well, whatever the level, you’ll probably find this report on B2B buying preferences relevant.

Wish for more B2B conundrums to be resolved?

Tell us about the challenges you’re facing in B2B marketing, and we’ll do our best to find an answer for you. And if those challenges have to do with email marketing, come over and book a demo.

Until next month ??
