Use this Tip for an Immediate SEO Boost

While nothing in Search Engine Optimization is truly immediate, there is something most website owners don't know about to get yourself an SEO boost that's quicker than anything else. I'm prepping for a workshop about it so I thought a newsletter would be a great way to kick things off.

That's really the topic of my workshop. But the focus will be on Google Search Console, formerly known as Google Webmaster Tools. There are several features in Google Search Console that can boost your website in a SERP (Search Engine Results Page). My favorite is the URL checker tool because you not only see the status of a page with Google, like if it was crawled and when, but you can also submit the page with a request for an immediate crawl.

Now… nothing with Google is immediate. But in the metrics of time in SEO, it will feel like it. Depending on your website’s Domain Authority (DA) score, which Google doesn't claim to actually use, you may get a crawl within an hour. Anything same-day in Google is an immediate result!

So take a blog article for example, if you go and edit the blog article to spruce things up for search engines, you can go into Google search console and resubmit the page to request a new crawl. This updates the page in Google's index sometimes within the same day or week. That's huge! Now, there's a limit to how many pages you can submit in a day. And don't cry wolf. If you haven't made any changes to the page, don't resubmit it for a crawl request.

It's a Secret Tactic

Give it a try. After you edit a page in your website, copy the URL. Paste the URL into Google Search Console’s URL checker bar at the top of the screen, and check the page. After the page has been checked, it gives you the option to request it to be re-indexed. Click on that and wait a minute while it checks the page out. It will give you a confirmation when it's done. That's it! You're on your way to a boost in your SEO, even faster than every

one else.
