Use Cases of Bubble Chart in Power BI

A bubble chart in Power BI is useful for displaying relationships between three numeric variables. Here are some common use cases:

  1. Comparing Multiple Metrics: A bubble chart can represent data points where the x-axis, y-axis, and bubble size correspond to three separate metrics. For example, in sales analysis, you can plot sales amount (x-axis), profit margin (y-axis), and market share (bubble size).
  2. Identifying Trends and Outliers: It's helpful for spotting clusters and outliers in data. In a customer analysis scenario, you can track age (x-axis), annual spending (y-axis), and customer lifetime value (size) to observe different spending habits across age groups.
  3. Financial Analysis: A bubble chart can showcase financial data like revenue, cost, and profit margins, helping visualize which products or services are more profitable or where cost-saving opportunities lie.
  4. Marketing Performance: In digital marketing, a bubble chart can plot impressions (x-axis), click-through rate (y-axis), and conversion rate (bubble size) to assess the effectiveness of various campaigns.
  5. Project Management: Bubble charts can be used to track project performance, such as comparing project timelines (x-axis), cost overruns (y-axis), and project size or priority (bubble size).
