USE OF ADC IN EVERYDAY LIFE

We all know that ADC is used in everyday life in different fields of electronics. I would like to take 2 simple examples like how ADC is used to measure the speed of the vehicle and to trigger the coolant fan . Firstly a torque sensor is placed on the wheel which calculates the number of revolutions of the wheel per sec and this signal is analog in nature. Secondly this signal is passed to the ADC where in analog signal is converted into the digital pulses and there we get the speed of the vehicle. The second example is found in triggering the coolant fan, where in if the temperature exceeds certain value fan will be turned on. For this again SAR technique of ADC is used to read the temperature of the vehicle and trigger the fan .
