Many U.S. Consumers understand cyber risks to data but often lack the specific knowledge on cyber defenses. The results of the 2018 Chubb Cyber Risk Survey indicate that almost 90% of people understand that their personal data are vulnerable but that most have no idea how to protect it. Regularly changing passwords and being aware of ransomware can offer a degree of protection, experts say.
