The USASOA Christmas Dinner For Homeless Veterans
Every Christmas, USASOA volunteers help prepare and help feed our homeless and elderly veterans who are food insecure. Due to COVID restrictions, the VA will not be conducting the Christmas dinner this year. However, USASOA will be continuing this annual dinner with the help and support of our donors, volunteers, and supporters. On Saturday, December 26, 2020, we will be preparing and packaging food meals and delivering the Christmas dinners directly to three various VA veteran homeless shelters and transitional centers in SouthEast Washington, DC. Here is an opportunity to make a real impact at this joyous time of the year. With care and compassion, let's not forget our most vulnerable, homeless and elderly veterans who are food insecure.
Our organization is grateful to St. John's Episcopal Church in Accokeek, Maryland for the use of their kitchen facilities and to our volunteers which include Midshipman from the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland and the visiting Cadets from West Point for volunteering to assemble over 80 USASOA Winter Survival Kits For Homeless Veterans which will be delivered along with the Christmas meals.
As an all-volunteer nonprofit, we need the help and support of every American to help us fund this important event. We are making over 80 meals so please donate at least $25.00 which buys a single meal for a homeless or elderly veteran and a Winter Survival Kit. Make a direct impact by contributing whatever you can afford DONATE
