USA Tops Table for UK Investment

International Expansion | Inward Investment | Helping Companies to Expand ???? ???? ????
Whichever way you cut it, the United States is once again, as it has always been since records began, the UK’s number one source of foreign direct investment jobs (28%) and projects (26%), responsible for more inward investments than the next four markets combined.
Behind the UK's Department for Business and Trade headline FDI numbers for 2023-24 of 1,555 projects and 71,478 jobs there are some interesting trends in the face of geopolitical traumas especially in relation to the source markets of inward investment:
Who Creates FDI Jobs in the UK?
#1 USA (19,341)
#2 Germany (7,664)
#3 India (7,533)
#4 France (5,747)
#5 Sweden (3,578)
Other Headlines:
- Six of the UK’s top eight sources of FDI projects were EU states
- China, down in 12th place, was responsible for less projects than Ireland
- Polish firms created more UK jobs than Japanese companies
- Finland sent more projects than Korea
- 17 countries each produced more than 1,000 jobs
There’s a very long tail of source markets that invest in the UK.
How does the changing landscape of inward investment impact your target markets?
