The USA government announced they would allotment around $5billion to deploy portable EV charging station

On April 2022,the energy?and transport department announced,they would allotment around $5billion to deploy portable EV charging station,the aim of President Joe Biden is that they will have 500000public EV charging stations,which is more than 400000pcs as now.

For the first time since the bipartisan infrastructure bill was passed in November 2021, the administration is sharing new details about how the money will be spent. States have until August to submit proposals on how they would spend the money in accordance with the guidance.

The investment comes as the global auto industry is aggressively transitioning to producing and selling zero-emission vehicles, spurred by tighter emissions regulations and Tesla's (TSLA.us) runaway success.

Automakers plan to flood the market with new electric vehicles over the next few years as they become cheaper and enter the mainstream. F.u. 'S F-150 Lightning is a $40,000 electric pickup truck that goes on sale this spring. Chevrolet will begin selling a $30,000 battery-powered SUV in 2023.

However, the lack of public charging stations keeps people from giving up their internal-combustion cars. A recent survey of California electric car owners by the University of California, Davis, found that one in five switched back to a gasoline car because it was too much trouble to recharge. In 2021, the U.S. market share for electric vehicles will grow to 3.5%.

Officials would not say how many charging points would be deployed in the $5bn project or when the first charging points would open to the public. They say the move is the first step towards the goal of deploying 500,000 charging piles.
