NTSB and FAA Investigate Nashville Runway Incursion Involving Alaska Airlines and Southwest Airlines

On September 12, 2024, an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 9 (N919AK) aborted its takeoff at Nashville International Airport, Tennessee, to avoid a runway incursion with a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-700. Alaska Airlines Flight AS382 was accelerating on runway 13 when Southwest Flight WN2029 was cleared to cross the same runway, prompting the Alaska crew to apply brakes, causing tire deflation.
