U.S. Rail & Logistics Week 16 2021 Update

Week 16 2021 Summary

Hopefully, most were able to hear Wes Adkins, our CEO, speak during the NEARS virtual conference. Wes provided his perspective on rail service and the KCS transaction.

Last week most carload categories were up vs. 2020. North American grain, motor vehicles, and intermodal continues to outpace 2020. Grain carloads are still the strongest category with merchants and end users trying to get their hands on every bushel they can find. In the grain carload graphs in the report you'll see that US carloads have remained steady since recovering from the ice storm while it appears that Canadian carloads may be slowing slightly. Canadian grian shipments are still 30% ahead of 2020's pace though.
