US National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Act (GMO Labeling)
The long-awaited Food Labeling regulation known as the National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Standards Act (NBFDSA) issued by the USDA will become effective January 1, 2022. This regulation delivers a federal standard leveling the playing field for industry and consumers often confused on GMO product labels.
The new rule is highly anticipated by industry and even with the pandemic diverting the food industry's priorities is barreling forward, and is intended to bring clarity to long-standing GMO questions.
