Is US heading towards 2008 ?
The US economy has been in news for couple of months and definitely not positive. Pandemic, layoffs and inflation have created news in the past and now the story is continuing as we enter the 6th month of 2023 critics and experts have started to talk about something which was always on the cards but was spoken with tight lips
US commercial real estate is at almost all time low and small banks are started to feel the heat, like they say burning the cash reserve to maintain them. 1) They are burning cash reserve because of 1) Inflation 2) Rate of interest 3) Real estate not in use people are not buying as they anticipated.
In India I saw something similar in Gurugram in 2021 may be you have seen in your city let me know. We have seen how the chinese real estate crisis impacted them and we are still cautiously looking at the development. India has always maintained a balance and therefore in my opinion has not impacted it's economy.
This is one of the reason why companies want you to work from office, cannot explain but looks like an underline reason for the real estate problem, may be there P&L will get impacted. Is there a big problem around the corner ? may be not but certainly in 2024-2025 we are going to see major changes and all the best for it.
