How useless is this overheated discussion over the vote in US.

I am amazed to watch the media still playing the role of opinionists instead of chronicles. They just failed everything possible: from the polls to the pre-vote commentary. Someone even printed the front page with the wrong winner...

During all this noise around the US election campaign some Oil specialists had the chance to attend the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (ADIPEC) where OPEC discussed one of the key factors leading the energy industry: the GDP growth around the world.

As you can see, according to OPEC the GDP will more than double till 2040 with 3/4 of that growth coming from what is classified as RoW, India, China, Other Asia and Opec. The Opec countries will have a nice role to play, not really different from the one of OECD America. That is impressive.

The reason behind this is essentially one: the demographic trend. Than we can understand that everything is pretty "relative"

None of these 2 "amazing" candidates at the White House mentioned for a second what to do to revert this negative trends. Trump is better than Clinton or Clinton is better than Trump? No idea, but both are just irrelevant. Their main concern were what to do with the guns, with Russia, with the migrants, with the health system and so on. None cared about the families and how to promote the growth of their own population.

Hopefully the next governement will be better than this one of Obama. Easy task but we never know... Murphy law.
