US Election

Here is my unsolicited my two cents.

Regardless of whether you lean liberal or conservative, left or right, the election results likely will not satisfy anyone.  I sincerely wish for a positive outcome where cooperation and mutual respect return and drive the political debate - regardless of the outcome of this vote.

I believe as Torontonians/Canadians we need to take an optimistic and opportunistic view and be hopeful. I hope that all of our political and business leaders take this opportunity to:

·      Show leadership on creating a competitive business environment to incentivize investment;

·      Show leadership on investing in infrastructure across the country; 

·      Show leadership on a positive and inclusive immigration policy;

·      Show leadership on developing & investing in green technology to combat climate change;

·      Show leadership on a civil collaboration among differing political views & parties;

·      Show leadership on creating inclusive and anti-racist communities; and

·      Show leadership on responsibly and aggressively getting COVID under control, developing & distributing the vaccine/therapeutics;

If we do this, we can be a city/province/country of choice. Where people and businesses prefer to locate. We can create a recovery and a new economy that will be inspiring and can create positive impact here and abroad.

The Canadian market isn’t significant enough to move the global economy but we can certainly set an example and show leadership to our friends, partners and allies. We can continue to draw the world’s best and brightest to Canada/Toronto.

Let’s see todays glass as HALF FULL.
