U.S. Coast Guard Starts Service-Wide FUSION Operator Training
Strategic Robotic Systems
The FUSION is a fresh approach to underwater vehicles that exemplifies design, capability and intuitiveness.
Date:??22 March 2023
Location:??U.S. Coast Guard Base Seattle – Seattle, WA
Strategic Robotic Systems recently conducted a FUSION Level 1 Operator Training Course held at U.S. Coast Guard Base Seattle for the Maritime Safety and Security Team (MSST).??This training session officially kicks off a Service-wide training roadshow of all U.S. Coast Guard FUSION operators.??The course covers all operational fundamentals, post mission data analysis and maintenance and repairs.??In attendance for the training were operators from four different MSSTs (Seattle, Los Angeles/ Long Beach, San Francisco, and Houston).
Truly indicative as to how intuitive and user friendly the FUSION system is to use, is that all students (without any ROV experience at all), are able to completely run operations from start up to shut down with approximately 30-40 minutes of initial hands-on training.??What can we say, life’s a breeze without generators!!
This training initiative is completely sponsored by the Office of Subsurface Capabilities (CG-7212) at U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters to ensure the Service is able to meet the many challenges and missions the U.S. Coast Guard is relied upon to support, uphold and enforce.
The U.S. Coast Guard is one of SRS’ largest clients and we greatly appreciate our Active-Duty Coast Guard servicemembers!??It’s a pleasure and an honor to support you.
Semper Paratus, and Semper FUSION!
