US announces charges against ‘mastermind’ Vikash Yadav in plot to kill Sikh separatist leader
The US Justice Department on October 17 charged an "Indian government employee," Vikash Yadav, 39, with ‘murder-for-hire’ and money laundering in connection with his role in directing a foiled plot to kill Sikh separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun.
The attempt to kill the separatist Sikh American national was made last summer in and around the state visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, federal prosecutors alleged in a damaging indictment filed in a US court in New York.
33 hoax bomb threats received by airlines in 4 days in India: See list of carriers
In four days, between October 13 to 17, at least 33 flights of various Indian airlines received bomb threats, including international flights, and some of them had to be diverted or were forced to land. Most of the threats, have turned out to be hoax. Nonetheless, the Civil Aviation Ministry has now decided to put in place strict norms to prevent incidents of hoax bomb threats to airlines, including placing perpetrators on no-fly lists, a senior police official said on October 17, PTI reported.
Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu said on Thursday that the ministry is looking at amending civil aviation regulations to ensure strict action is taken against incidents of bomb threats to airlines.

Shares of Infosys are trading with losses on Friday after the company reported its September quarter results after market hours on Thursday.
Among the positives include the fact that its constant currency revenue growth of 3.1% was well ahead of peers like TCS (1.1%) and HCLTech (1.6%).The company also raised its revenue growth guidance for financial year 2025 to 3.75% to 4.5% from the earlier guidance which ranged between 3% to 4%.
However, brokerages like Kotak and Citi had expected the guidance range to be betwen 4% to 5% in constant currency terms.Brokerage firm Nomura is one of those who are bullish on the stock. The brokerage has a "buy" rating on the stock with a price target of ?2,130.

Working out of an office in Chakala, in Mumbai's Andheri suburb, Eruditus wants to invest the money in using artificial intelligence to improve learners' experience, as well as spend on acquisitions. The startup's valuation remains at $3.2 billion, unchanged since its August 2021.
