The U.S. Border Control is proposing adding a new line to the form travelers fill out when visiting in the U.S. for under 90 days without a visa. According the Guardian, the line would be added to both the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (Esta) and I-94W forms and would read, “Please enter information associated with your online presence—Provider/Platform—Social media identifier.”

8 年There will be a lot of sturm und drang on both sides of this debate. It is important to note that (1) it will not (cannot) be applied to US citizens, and (2) for non-US persons there is no 'right' to enter the US - allowing non-USP is optional. DHS/CBP can make anything a requirement, search through belongings, turn people around at the border, etc.

8 年Why not? We've obviously entered an era where our social rules are changing. Individual signatures are becoming an important investigative tool.
