u$s 260 million fight between ESPN and Fox/Turner to broadcast Argentine football
US television networks ESPN, and Fox in association with Turner, are fighting to broadcast the First Division of the Argentine football. Also added, was the surprise appearance of the Spanish Mediapro, who as a curriculum can show the television rights of the Spanish League, the Brazilian Championship, the Champions League and Europa League in Spain, as well as the Formula 1 World Championship.
Although the figures did not transcend, the AFA had announced that the guidelines for companies seeking to keep the rights had to have a base offer of 3000 million pesos (approximately US$ 187.5 million), plus a "key" of income for $ 1200 million and a term of 5 years.
The proposals will be analyzed within the next 48 hours by a "Bid Analysis Commission", made up of representatives of the 5 "big" clubs (Boca, River, Racing, Independiente and San Lorenzo), plus Lanús, Huracan, and the Normalizing Commission
At the Assembly on February 24, which will be held at the Ezeiza estate, it will seek to approve the award of the most convenient offer.
