I saw a post where someone mentioned that people with a Cybersecurity background should not put their personal email addresses below job posts, also he stated that he instantly blocks these people because if somebody they should know that we are NOT sharing personal information on social media under any circumstances.
It gave me the idea to make a post about URLs and why you should never click on them if you don't know their origin, destination, or if it comes from a suspicious source.
Without starting any technical blabla, URLs are addresses which are points to websites, files, images, etc...In one address it can sum up the protocol, domain name, port number and the path to the file which we would like to retrieve.
URLs also can redirect to other websites and directions and they look like this:
https://example.com /login?returnUrl =https:// www.dontclickherepls.com
But it seems suspicious so normally we are using an URL shortener.
This could point to a malware host; your system gets infected, and your computer can become a part of a botnet also they could get remote access to your device??
An attacker can steal your personal data and cookies?? to impersonate you.?? ??
Or you can gets infected by ransomware and say bye-bye to all your photos, videos, and saved game files??
So use social media wisely and do not click on anything you see, especially if you are at work where IT doesn't bother to have all the systems up-to-date.
