Urgent Update: 30-Day Delay on Canadian Tariffs
American Building Materials Alliance (ABMA)
ABMA actively advocates on behalf of the LBM industry at the federal level.
ABMA Members,
We have just been informed by Capitol staff familiar with the situation that the administration has decided to delay the implementation of the new tariffs on Canadian lumber and building materials by 30 days.
While this delay offers a temporary reprieve, ABMA continues to push for a full exemption on Canadian SPF lumber to prevent long-term cost increases for the construction industry. We remain engaged with policymakers and will continue advocating for solutions that protect affordability and ensure supply chain stability.
We will provide further updates as new developments emerge. In the meantime, if you have any questions or would like to share how these tariffs impact your business, please reach out.
Thank you for your continued engagement.
