Urgent: UAE Corporate Tax Registration Deadline June 30 is the Final Date to Avoid Fines

Attention UAE businesses with licenses issued in March and April: you must register for corporate tax by June 30. This is a reminder from the Federal Tax Authority (FTA).

For juridical persons (businesses with a separate legal identity), today, May 31, is the deadline if you didn’t have a license by March 1 this year.

Corporate tax applies to businesses incorporated in the UAE and foreign businesses controlled from the UAE. This includes free zone businesses and entities managed from here. The Ministry of Finance says you will face corporate tax if your annual turnover is more than Dh1 million.

Missing the registration deadline will result in a Dh10,000 fine, as decided by the Cabinet in February.

Corporate tax is a tax on the net income or profit of businesses. FTA Director-General Khalid Ali Al Bustani emphasized meeting these deadlines for smooth and accurate compliance. The FTA is educating business stakeholders through workshops and meetings in commercial and industrial areas to spread tax awareness.
