Due diligence and why it matters

Dear reader

The urgency of due diligence. How to take good care. Becoming responsible. Why we must care much more about how we 'do it well' - and how to transform our mind-set from taking 'short-cuts' into 'deep thinking' and thereby becoming able to see and create from a stewardship perspective.

Observing LinkedIn feeds over the past weeks, I noticed that the algorithm fed - to me - 'upsetting' posts, like:

3 'upsetting' examples

  1. two independent 'boasts of how 2000 of trees were felled' - [destruction of forest, habitat and biodiversity-loss] for the 'greater good (?) of carbon storage'
  2. 'how programmed or even presumably self-learning (-programming) computers [AI] would start to help humans (because we are part of nature, this is a misleading 'socket' to dock into) to heal [unpack & digest their unfinished business, hurt and (childhood / business) traumas] when used pre- during and after- therapy by psychologists, psychiatrists, (executive) coaches, counsellors
  3. last but not least: how a Swiss federal council member addressed the issue of 'rebuilding trust in democracy' at the WEF / Davos 2024 [why in heavens name got 'trust lost' in governance / politicians the first place? (irresponsibility? or a lack of due diligence? ) ]- this to name only a few.

How do you feel?

How do you feel, reading this? Do you remain unimpacted? numbed? Do you start to think further or do you carelessly scroll further [avoid the topic]?

Well, these 'boasts' upset me, because they contradict my 'value-system' [compass]. I thought further: if this does upset me - how would it affect the bodily states and mental health of other readers, I wondered. How would they deal with the 'upset'? Would they respond with feeling anxious or angry or going into 'a void'? - and most of all: "How would I decide to respond?"

I decided to write this post in the hope it helps to start to 'make change' by supporting spreading deep thinking.

Analysing the posts that the algorithm fed me [I start to wonder if this was programmed on purpose (obviously the algorithm feeds 'more of the same') - to 'upset' others too so that people 'can't think properly anymore' (deviate from the path)? and I started to wonder: 'why should I care'? ] -

By analysing, I found a common denominator

Anyhow - I found a common denominator in the a.m. posts: 'a lack of due diligence', a lack of thinking things through thoroughly. Not seeing what is caused, what is being destroyed / lost.

This means 'short-cut' decisions were made and acted upon - with at times fatal consequences for humans, animals and our common environment [that were written off contemptuously as 'collateral'].

A lack of due diligence can't be allowed to happen. We have to change course.

So, if you are (or know someone who is) in the position that you need to do your due diligence and have to think things through thoroughly, feel free to let us know today.

We invite you to:

  1. Benefit from our insights, understanding of complexities and our experience.
  2. Learn from us how to act from a stewardship point of view.
  3. Learn to see what 'taking good care' means and entails.
  4. Learn how to 'do it well'.

Why 'doing it well' matters? Because it makes a sorely needed #difference in the way we #relate and #think about 'matter'. #changethenow #changethefuture
