Urban wilderness

Our team reinvented the modern neighbourhood to serve the lifestyles of today while addressing the issue of the pandemic. Our project highlights the benefits of nature as a model for cities and proposes a design that will create self-sustaining communities that better the lives of those that use it.

Urban wilderness refers to natural or semi-natural areas within urban environments that provide habitat for wildlife and recreational opportunities for residents. These areas are often characterized by vegetation, such as urban forests, public parks, community gardens, or street trees, and are relatively untouched by human development. The term "urban wilderness" emphasizes the presence of nature within cities and underscores the importance of preserving these spaces amidst urbanization. These areas serve as green lungs for cities, promoting biodiversity, mitigating urban heat island effects, and offering residents a connection to nature.
