The Upswing

Ah, January. All the cold and darkness of December, without all the time off and holiday cheer. There's more Winter ahead of us than behind us. It's back to work, back to school, and Summer seems a lifetime away.

However...

We're also in a time of the year I love. After a much needed break, we all start the year with a clean slate. Refreshed. Renewed. We have a whole year ahead of us to accomplish our newly set goals. And we have the wind at our backs.

These early days of January are among the coldest and darkest we'll see. It'll be dark driving into the office and dark going home. But consider this: Every day from here on out gets a little brighter. It's six weeks until pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training, and six weeks more until opening day. By then, we'll be feeling Spring in the air and the sun will linger a little longer into the evening.

We're in the upswing, folks. What will you do with it?
