UpSpring's picks for charitable giving
Happy Holidays from all of us at UpSpring Associates.
We’re offering some of our favorite choices as you considering your year-end charitable gifts:
Here in Santa Fe, we love the work of CHIMERA, Meow Wolf’s non-profit education initiative. Leveraging the talented artists’ collective behind The House of Eternal Return, they offer opportunities for kids (k-12) to learn digital skills and other new forms of creative engagement. Your gifts support critical access to state-of-the-art training for youth and families across our community, regardless of socio-economic background.
We also support the wonderful work of the Santa Fe Art Institute as they cultivate creative practices, engage with diverse communities, and address our most pressing social issues.
Nationally, we’ve been following and supporting the actions of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Council as they oppose the Dakota Access Pipeline and call upon the Army Corps of Engineers to reject the DAPL river crossing permit.
As arrests and violent actions against the protesters, mostly Native American, increased during the fall, a winter camp was established and the water protectors resolved to remain as long as was necessary. Native and non-native allies have taken on a larger fight against big oil investors like Nordea Bank and others who profit from continuing America’s dependence on fossil fuels.
Checks, cash or supplies can be sent via mail to: Sacred Stone Camp, P.O. Box 1011, Fort Yates, ND 58538, or 202 Main St., Fort Yates, ND 58538. You can also donate and take action on the Sacred Stone Camp official website.
At UpSpring Associates, we look forward to a new year of supporting the mission of all B-Corps, using business as a power for good.
