Upsilon's January Digest
Hi there!?
In our last newsletter of 2022, we gave you a little hint about the website redesign and new content coming soon. In this, our first newsletter of 2023 (yay! ?? ), we're excited to deliver on that promise by sharing the exciting news and the most relevant and recent content on our blog.?
?? Content
Articles
In January, we published several must-read articles. Each one will take you no more than 15 minutes to read — a great way to start a new year with new knowledge. ?? In the articles, we talk about the difference between the two most popular analytics tools, MVP development companies, emerging business trends and the app development cost in 2023.?
Interview
What if cloud operations could really stop being a bottleneck? Although the cloud was initially designed to help make operations simpler to handle and scale, entrepreneurs often face roadblocks.
The good news is that it can get easy if you use specially-designed and customizable PaaS. Upsilon interviewed Cory O'Daniel, who is the co-founder and CEO of Massdriver (YC W22), a platform engineering solution for startups and growing software teams.?
From Cory’s story, you’ll learn how this PaaS and the pre-built infrastructures can aid startups and developers, why platform engineering is the future, and why DevOps is sometimes garbage. ??
?? Random photo from our Instagram
In January, we were filming a video about our office life. We invited a videographer, all our colleagues and a Meow Manager (yes, it’s a cat ??). In the photo, you can see a part of the process. Moreover, this month was all about reels. Still feels like a generation Z thing ??, but we are testing it!
?? New website
It’s not a drill! ?? A brand new Upsilon website is already live. At the end of 2022, after 6 months of work, we (finally!) launched an updated website. Andrew Fan , Upsilon’s CEO, describes the process:?
We wanted to change both the appearance of our website and the core message we deliver to our clients. Therefore, we were working in two directions. The first one is design. We created a style guide, not only for the website but also for the entire brand and began the redesign process. Another part was connected to brand messaging. We focused on the problem that we are helping to solve and also tried to find the right tone of voice to communicate and connect with our potential customers.
What has become of it? Check out our website to have a closer look? — https://www.upsilonit.com/. And if you have a project ready to scale or a startup idea that you want to turn into reality, contact us or directly Andrew Fan to kick off the product development process with Upsilon.?
?? Partnership
When acquiring a digital business, it is important to reduce risks of your deal and uncover value-creation potential of the product. But it often comes to the point where you have a lack of expertise to dive deeper into tech details. Our partnership with BitsForDigits , an up-market platform connecting owners of profitable online businesses with potential buyers, will help acquirers invest confidently. ??
How? Upsilon provides product tech audit and further development support to business acquirers. We review and evaluate 5 key tech areas of the project and prepare the tech audit report, including all calculations, risks evaluation, assumptions, and recommendations.?
