UPS to Report Q4 Earnings on 1/30/20
UPS is set to report Q4 earnings on 1/30 and this event may be more about FedEx than UPS as the analysts will want to see if UPS will be following FedEx, and trend downwards. UPS had a solid, Q3 earnings report and FedEx’s most recent report announced in December for the period September thru November, was just horrible, with Express, Ground and LTL, reporting lower profit. It will be more bad news for FedEx if UPS reports strong numbers for Q4. Finally, keep in mind that UPS earnings will include all revenue earned for the entire holiday-shipping season, whereas FedEx’s last report did not include December revenue, nor late November shipping activity, whose revenue was not captured in their last earnings report.

4 年FedEx is NO UPS! They have strengths that have often been some of UPS areas to improve. None of those strengths are operational excellence, international integration, quality or efficiency. Won’t highlight their weaknesses but marketing, preferred pricing, rebates and credits just go so far. UPS results will far outpace rivals for all the right sustainable reasons.
