UPS Implements OAuth 2.0

Efficient shipping is vital for the success of any e-commerce business, and at PluginHive, we're committed to providing solutions that simplify the shipping process for our users. That's why we're excited to announce an important update to our UPS API integration – the implementation of OAuth 2.0 authentication.

Upcoming Changes with UPS OAuth 2.0

After June 3, 2024, all UPS API transactions will necessitate the use of the OAuth security model, rendering access keys obsolete. As a result, clients must include a bearer token with each API request to authenticate transactions with UPS.

UPS has also updated its APIs to follow a more flexible RESTful pattern, allowing both UPS and its clients to easily modify API payloads without strict schema requirements. As a result, the endpoints supporting Access Key authentication and the older API structure will be phased out in the future.

What this brings for PluginHive Customers

At PluginHive, we’re dedicated to providing a smooth experience for your business while adapting to the latest UPS API changes. To achieve this, we’re making some important enhancements to the way our customers use our plugin.

UPS API Calls Routed Through PluginHive.io

All UPS API calls will now be routed through PluginHive.io, guaranteeing secure communication between the WooCommerce store and UPS.

Mandatory License Renewal of WooCommerce UPS Shipping Plugin for Continued Service

For all the customers who are currently using or planning to use the WooCommerce UPS Shipping plugin with Print Label, maintaining an up-to-date plugin license will now be essential.

Once the license expires, the customers will not be able to utilize the plugin functionality and the plugin will stop functioning. Hence, our team strongly recommends renewing the plugin license promptly to avoid any disruption in the shipping capabilities.

Individual Plugin Licenses Required To Go Multi-Site

As per the new registration method, the WooCommerce UPS Shipping plugin with Print Label will no longer support 5-site & 25-site licenses. The existing licenses for the 5-site and 25-site plugins will no longer be valid. Instead, we recommend customers purchase individual licenses for each website they wish to integrate with UPS.

Non-Transferable Plugin License

The WooCommerce UPS Shipping plugin with Print Label license is strictly non-transferable and intended solely for the customer who initially acquired it. Team PluginHive will not be able to assign or transfer the plugin license to any other individual or entity. We strongly recommend the plugin license be used by the customer who integrates the UPS Account within the plugin.

Utilize UPS Ready Partner Access with PluginHive

By February 1, 2024, as a UPS Ready Partner, PluginHive will utilize UPS Ready Partner Access to create UPS Access Keys and migrate to OAuth and RESTful APIs for improved functionality and security.

Scalable License Options with Personalised Quote

Purchasing the WooCommerce UPS Shipping Plugin with Print Label license will allow customers to process up to 15,000 orders per month, which are ideal for Small and Medium-sized eCommerce businesses.?

Customer support for an easy onboarding

Our dedicated support team will be available round the clock to assist all PluginHive customers with any queries or concerns they may have during this transition period.
