When I asked how Artificial Intelligence would attack its human captors, ChatGPT4 gave a terrifyingly plausible answer.
My suggestion? Let's all carry a bucket of water. On the count of three, throw in all the devices you can find.
I'm open to other suggestions.

1 年I think it’s worth pausing for breath here. GPT is a large language model. It’s trained on human data. It isn’t artificially intelligent in the way we might think. It’s basically a stochastic parrot, guessing the next word in a sequence based on the input prompt. So what we’re reading here is what humans have inputted into countless conspiracy theory laden blogs and news articles. We’re still some way off Skynet.

1 年My existential fear isn't so much with thre AI per se, it's more with what happens when AI falls into the hands of people who have only hatred in mind. If you consider what has already happened (without AI) re misinformation around anything that is important (climate change, progressive politics, etc.) and how the political landscape (in the US especially) is crumbling under the weight of rampant self-interest then add AI to these mechanisms and things could get interesting. On the flip side, given humans have shown a complete inability to act collectively in ways that maximise our chance for long-term survival ... maybe we'd be better off putting AI in charge?
