Upper Maxillary Guided Surgery with Post-Extraction

Case description: 5 implants in the maxilla and post-extraction element 26 with root ossification. Patient with serious aversion for traditional implant surgery.

The first success was to persuade her towards guided surgery, with documentation of previous cases.

The case appeared simple at an early stage; however, avulsion of 26 was found to be investigative due to root ossification. Nevertheless, it was possible to preserve the infradicular septum to allow implant insertion with the precision that only guided surgery can guarantee.

The under-preparation of the implant sites – strongly recommended in the maxilla – made it possible to achieve a high torque, of over 45 ncm.

The duration of the operation was about 45 minutes, of which about 20 to obtain an avulsion as atraumatic as possible.

The patient declares to be more than satisfied and ready to rehabilitate the inferior.
