UPM SILab and DOST-FNRI Collaborate on Artificial Intelligence Research Updates; DOST-PCHRD to Host Roadmapping Exercise

October 4, 2024 – The UP Manila Standards and Interoperability Lab (UPM SILab) visited the Department of Science and Technology - Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI) to share updates on their respective research projects focused on artificial intelligence (AI) applications. The meeting, held at the FNRI compound, fostered productive discussions on AI's role in advancing health and nutrition research in the Philippines.

The DOST Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) also participated in the meeting, contributing valuable insights on the future direction of AI initiatives. As a key outcome of the discussions, DOST-PCHRD agreed to host a roadmapping exercise to outline a collaborative strategy for AI research in health and nutrition, ensuring alignment with national research and development goals.

This collaboration marks a significant step toward strengthening partnerships among leading institutions in the Philippines, aiming to harness the potential of AI to address critical health and nutrition challenges in the country.
