There's a saying in the mindfulness community that's rung true for me in the present moment. It's a powerful statement that invites compassion, understanding, and empathy while also allowing for growth.

We are doing the best we can with the tools we have in the moment

It's a fundamental belief and mindset that humans are out there doing what they can as they navigate through life. This applies both towards your own capacities as well as that of others.

So what does the Alluviant Leader do when faced with this statement that everyone is already doing the best that they can? Do we just kick back and coast knowing that we're operating at our capacity and blessed with the tools we already have?

I think you already know the answer.

HELLZ TO THE NO!

When the Alluviant Leader recognizes and accepts that we are doing the best we can with the tools we have, WE UPGRADE OUR TOOLS!

Better tools = better life

We don't accept our lot in life and go on auto pilot. We actively seek out ways to improve our tool belt and the tool belts of those we lead.

While this statement is great for having compassion for ourselves and others (especially when something does not go our way), it is also not a blank pass to be a spectator in our own lives. We are the active creators in this story. And in this story, we upgrade our tools: the craft of sales, our inner game, and our community.

As we head into the end of year, I invite you to reflect on the tools that are most holding you back. Where is your capacity being limited by the tools you currently have available to you? What can you do in the new year to unlock those upgrades?
