Here’s a step-by-step guide to ensure a smooth transition for your SAP environment:
1. Connect to RHEL Satellite or CDN Red Hat
Ensure your server is connected to the RHEL Satellite or Content Delivery Network.
2. Enable the necessary repositories.
Confirm that your RHEL 7.9 system has the normal repositories enabled. Also, enable the rhel-7-server-extras-rpms repository:
subscription-manager repos --disable='*' \
--enable="rhel-7-server-rpms" \
--enable="rhel-sap-hana-for-rhel-7-server-rpms" \
--enable="rhel-7-server-extras-rpms"
3. Clear Yum Cache
Remove all files cached by yum:
rm -rf /var/cache/yum
4. Ensure there is no RHEL Release Lock
Make sure no RHEL release lock is set.
subscription-manager release --unset
5. Update to Latest RHEL 7 Packages
Update your RHEL 7.9 system to the latest package levels:
yum update
6. Reboot
Reboot the system.
