Updates in Generative AI: New Transformative Capabilities Unleashed

We stand at the threshold of the Generative AI (Gen AI) (r)Evolution. It’s not just about having data—it’s about enabling data to work smarter, harder, and more creatively for us than ever before.

Multi-modal Models:?The latest model, GPT-4o is a multimodal AI meaning it can process and generate content across text, audio, and images in real-time. Imagine talking to your computer like you talk to a person and not noticing much difference.

Custom Chatbots: Both Google and OpenAI are developing platforms that allow users to create their own chatbots tailored to specific needs without requiring coding skills. Generate up-to-date sales reports for you in real-time? No problem. See all client interactions in a given time period for a given region? All in a day’s work. Help you understand the industry through competitive research? Easy. Oh, and it’ll still set up reminders if you still want that.

These advancements are redefining what’s possible, unlocking enterprise data and enabling business level, immediate interpretation of large amounts of data for business users, developing reports and presentations automatically and even providing live translation for multi-lingual conversations.

Apple’s Anticipated Foray:?What’s Apple going to do? Apple’s anticipated entry into Gen AI is still unclear but all signs point to their first big step into Gen AI, anticipated next month, being a game changer. Known for seamless integration and user-centric design, Apple’s entry into the market suggests a future where Gen AI becomes as ubiquitous and essential as smartphones in our pockets.

Reward Walks Hand in Hand with Risk: The risks of Gen AI are real—data breaches, ethical dilemmas, and the potential for blind trust. But so are the rewards: unparalleled efficiency, innovation, and a competitive edge that can redefine market leadership. The key to reaping rewards while controlling risks is making sure the data that your Gen AI is using is always high-quality, easily identifiable and clearly defined. ?

This means robust data governance, a culture that clearly defines the role of Gen AI as an enabler in the workplace, and a strategic approach to data management that views Gen AI as a key business ally.

These key actions are already showing results for businesses. According to a Gartner study, organizations that defined AI as part of their strategic direction have outperformed their peers in the industry 80% of the time.

It’s 10 AM! We are not at the dawn of a new era, we’re already mid-morning, and if you aren’t Gen AI ready, you may end up behind the competition. Gen AI is not just processing information; it’s enabling businesses with new capabilities, strategies, and solutions that can put them steps ahead of the competition.

Your Next Move:?If you’re looking to navigate the complexities of Gen AI and help your business become AI ready, start by looking at your data (or have a chat with me!). A little bit of time investing in your data landscape will ensure your business gets a leg up while still standing on solid ground.?

Great article Sean! And thank you for introducing me to AI in practice. It was a bit embarrassing though, it speaks better Russian than I do, I could not keep up with our intelligent conversation ??

Great update! Thanks, Sean. "It's 10 AM" - we still have time to react. Take the music industry, for example. When Napster first came out, executives were slow to act and complacent. Guess what happened; it changed the industry forever, and many are still playing catch up. Let's make Gen AI work for us!
