Updates from Zenith Live ‘23
It was fantastic to see everyone at Zenith Live ‘23 this week in Las Vegas where customers, partners, media and industry analysts convened to discuss the latest cybersecurity trends, innovations and pathways to secure digital transformation. This year, many of the discussions focused on the “how” behind implementing change, an encouraging shift that signifies that enterprises now keenly understand the business value of digital transformation and that it must be done with a Zero Trust architecture in order to protect against escalating cyber threats. We’ve come a long way in the past several years and, with the advent of new technologies like generative AI, the security space will only get more exciting.?
At Zscaler, we’ve always been on the forefront of what’s next and AI is no exception. There’s no doubt that AI has the potential to disrupt existing models and methods of security, which is precisely why Zscaler has been investing heavily in AI and machine learning for the past several years. We recognized early on that the vast amounts of high-quality, diverse data resulting from the 300B daily transactions processed by Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange would have the ability to train AI models to produce meaningful and accurate results. We shared the culmination of these efforts in our announcement at Zenith Live where we introduced a suite of AI-powered cyber solutions , including:
These new services enable customers to harness the power of AI to predict and detect new attacks while safeguarding sensitive data. In addition, we also announced a number of advanced capabilities that have been added to the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange platform , which are designed to identify, mitigate, and manage large-scale attacks.
In my experience, the bold and the curious will succeed and inertia is the enemy of progress. Zscaler customers have always exhibited an appetite for taking calculated risks and being agents of change. This message came through loud and clear this week at Zenith Live when we heard from a broad range of progressive leaders and security experts from a variety of different industries, including @Christopher Porter , CISO at @Fannie Mae ; @Benjamin Vaughn , CISO at @Hyatt Hotels ; @DJ Goldsworthy , VP of Security Operations & Threat Management at @Aflac ; @Darin Hurd , EVP & CISO of @Guaranteed Rate ; @JP Saini , EVP & Chief Digital & Technology Officer at @Sunbelt Rentals ; and @Shamim Mohammad , EVP and Chief Information & Technology Officer of @CarMax . Here are just a few comments we heard from customers this week:
“One thing I love about Zscaler is that they’re innovative. They’re a company that really focuses on being an industry leader and setting new bars and expectations for customers. We need a partner who can innovate and that’s something I really, really love about Zscaler because they’re not complacent and neither are we. Having them as partners, we’ve been able to innovate quickly.” - Shamim Mohammad, EVP and Chief Information & Technology Officer at CarMax
“If we can modify our architecture to show the attacks in general and get this type of view of risks and operationalize this, I feel like we’re really well-positioned in this new frontier of AI against AI. We appreciate all that Zscaler is doing to build out these insights and give us actionable information that we can use to operationalize and automate with.” - DJ Goldsworthy, VP of Security Operations & Threat Management at Aflac

“Zscaler has grown a lot in the seven years that I’ve been working with you and you’ve been making amazing things to protect people. And I think we owe it to you and we owe it to ourselves to push the buttons you give us because those buttons are the way that we seize the initiative from threat actors.” - Benjamin Vaughn, CISO at Hyatt Hotels
“We started moving over to securing internet access with ZIA. That was a huge win for us. We were able to change the way that our users access the internet and changed the way that they work for many, many years.” - Christopher Porter, CISO at Fannie Mae
I feel extremely fortunate to be working with the best technology and go-to-market partners in the industry. Security is a highly dynamic space and we need a coordinated, integrated approach to form a united front against cyber threats. At the event this week, we heard about strategic integrations from @Microsoft’s Chief Security Advisor @James Eckart , and from @Justin Dustzadeh , EVP & CTO of @Equinix (who is also a customer).
It was extremely rewarding to see everyone engaging with each other and making connections, some for the very first time and others as familiar friends. When we come together as a community and bring our collective knowledge, experiences and expertise together, there’s no security challenge that we can’t solve.
If you were able to join us at Zenith Live last week - whether in-person or virtually - I’d like to express a heartfelt thanks to you. And if you happened to miss it or would like to view the keynotes and select sessions on-demand, please click here .
