Updates from us

Hello LCA Spotlight newsletter subscribers and happy December (soon)!

It's been a busy year for us, from launching the initiative to delivering 13 spotlights designed to promote accessibility and help learning content designers become better at creating accessible content.

We just wanted to let you know that we're taking a short break in December, but we'll be back in January with more content and even some videos featuring guest speakers.

In the meantime, we have reviewed our past spotlights and made some upgrades to them!

Now they're packed with more information and also include resources that have been shared by community members.

Check out these for example:

Spotlight 4 (Time limits) now mentions the more restrictive level AAA guideline related to timing.

Spotlight 6 (Meaningful sequence and focus order) now also talks about the necessity to have the focus order indicator visible for keyboard users. This is mainly controlled by the authoring tools with no action required by learning content creators, but it's worth checking out.

We also added more content in addition to the links we shared earlier to some of the past spotlights. In particular, we'd like to highlight these articles that have a bit more explanation:

Spotlight 3 (Alt text) now has more description on how to approach writing alt text.

Spotlight 11 (Using links) also includes more detail on how to write links.

We hope you'll enjoy these content boosts and we're looking forward to seeing you again in January!
