UPDATES: DOJ's ERPO Cntr, Charity Auction Results, 2A Consortium Held

I’m eager to share the outcomes of the recent Pot of Gold Charity Auction for Hold My Guns with you!

But first, let me highlight a noteworthy update from our monthly HMG Storage Partner meeting last Wednesday:

One of our FFL partners, who had over 20 firearms stored last month, shared that most of the firearms in storage have been picked up by their owners!! He shared with our team that this is significant because it underscores how the service is meeting the needs of firearm owners for temporary storage. Firearms owners were able to practice self-governance and manage their personal matters because of the Hold My Guns storage service.

And now for the auction results --

The bidding war towards the end of the recent Cheryl Todd 's Pot of Gold Charity Auction for Hold My Guns was thrilling to watch! Auction wins contribute to our growth in firearms storage partnerships and the enhancement of educational and community initiatives, furthering our mission to offer non-legislative solutions.?

Together, we raised $10,825, with every dollar going towards saving lives, protecting property, and preserving rights. This fundraiser, we hope, was not only enjoyable but also showcased the major brands and individuals backing Hold My Guns by donating items to the auction, including SIG Sauer, Mantis, Guns.com, Dana Loesch , PHLster, The Gun Collective, Blackout Coffee, HK, Magpul, Barnes Bullets, LiveFire App, Blackbelt Ammunition, Charlie Cook, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Smyrna, Olympian Lexi Lagan, Arctic Freeze, Jeff Sperandeo, AetherCompass, and QPR training (through me!).?

I'd like to spotlight PHLster for their exceptional contribution to our fundraising efforts. Not only did they raise $810 from their product proceeds, but they also matched this amount and contributed an additional $810! Their public donation note was clear and supportive:?

"Thank you for your important work. From the PHLster team."

While the auction was a success, our mission continues to need support:

  • $2,298 - Grassroots donations January-present
  • $10,285 - Funds raised through Auction March 12-24th
  • $810 - Matching funds from PHLster

This totals $13,393 in donations toward the March 31st goal of $61,912 which would put us on track for our 2024 goal of growing to 40 storage locations in 26 states. We have a remaining first quarter need of $48,519.

The ability to raise these funds will determine how Hold My Guns as an organization can best move forward.?

As I mentioned in the video above, Hold My Guns meets a very real need for gun owners to voluntarily and securely store firearms. Now more than ever, we need to elevate the liberty-based mission of Hold My Guns in contrast to legislative solutions that weaponize mental health to erase the right of due process.?

Every dollar counts.?

"The founder and Executive Director of Hold My Guns, Sarah Joy Albrecht, recently held a virtual meeting, bringing many groups together to discuss coming up with a values statement and pooling their voices...

Part of the goal is to “take a stand that our respective groups are serving the community without compromising rights,” Albrecht told me. “And, we are taking leadership to take matters into our own hands to elevate our missions, to collaborate, and serve our firearms community well, and to encourage others to do the same.”

Members from varying organizations or were acting as individuals that participated included people from The Liberal Gun Club, Kids SAFE Foundation, The Second is for Everyone, a former Top Shot contestant, Women for Gun Rights (formerly the DC Project), Walk the Talk America, The Well Armed Woman, FASTER Saves Lives, Team Fidelis, the Sentinel app, Doctors for Responsible Gun Ownership, A Girl and a Gun, A Great Start Shooting School’s Suicide Prevention Saturday, Firearms Owners Against Crime Institute for Legal Legislative and Educational Action, Buckeye Firearms Foundation, The Trigger Pressers Union, Public Safety and Education, Meet the Pressers, et. al...

The panel was a total who’s who of advocacy and activists in the gun-owning community that cares about the mental well-being of gun owners, firearm safety, crime mitigation, and suicide prevention.

Albrecht welcomed everyone by telling them something that’s beyond important in my opinion. She completely hit the nail on the head:

“I want you to know that each and every one of you has been an encouragement to me, as well as the organizations that you represent. And I want to encourage you that you are doing work that truly is making a difference. A lot of times I think that people in the firearms community don't get the recognition that they deserve for the good work that they're doing."
