MY website, HEITZMAN SIONS, ws recently updated and will continue having updates each month; it has now received 182,000 hits. I continue to receive emails, phone calls and letters from all across the world. In 2017, I bred over 500 young racing homers. One of my young birds won a race in Indiana; the winning money was donated to a church and a home for battered women.

Chesteen and I recently celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary; we had been going together for seven years before marriage. She is currently employed by The Estill County School System and I am still employed by Eastern Kentucky University. We are hoping to make it to age seventy before considering retirement.

Lance Fuller, my grandson, swims for Madison County High School and Wildcat Aquatics. Barrett Fuller, my other grandson, is on the Academic Team at his school, Kit Carson. Both helped rescue me last year when I was injured while spelunking. Both, along with Chesteen and my daughter, Nancy, recently spent eight days at Disney World where they stayed at The African Kingdom. The past year, we stayed in New York City for a week visiting many of the main attractions. We also made long stays in Memphis, Nashville, Atlanta, and Chicago.

My dear friend, Charles Chappell, Big Pine Key, Florida, whose home I lived in two months prior Hurricane Irma, has found a contractor to build a new home. Charlie's home was y demolished by the hurricane; he lost everything, except many scuba diving and fishing friends. His nephew, Jarrod, a person I taught to dive, recently received his MASTERS CERTIFICATION in diving. All of our families live together throughout June on SINGER ISLAND, Florida. Jarrod is a teacher and his wife, an attorney.

"OLD FRIENDS" ---- John McQuithy, Indiana, recently contacted me; I've got him started back into racing pigeons. John and I have been friends since 1959. Gary Stone, Cincinnati, is hopefully getting back into racing pigeons which I will supply. Gary and I have been friends for 60 years. Jim Isselhardt, Illinois, reviewed my article, GIMME SHELTER. Jim and I became friends in the early 70's;.he is the best showman I ever competed against. Alan Jones, Richmond, Kentucky, friend since 1974, continues to kindle archeological pursuits. This past year, I lost my old diving friend, Jeff Schmidt / Potter; he was found dead in his bed in Thailand. I once timed Jeff holding his breath underwater for four minutes and twenty seconds. I also lost my lifelong friend, Wallace Scott "DOC: Lewis, who for much of my life was like my brother. Doc died a pauper in Louisville and was buried in Oakdale Cemetery in Irvine, Kentucky; Doc illustrated several of my books; it is a shame he was never recognized for his artistic talent.
