***UPDATE TO SEDA STUDENTS***
Tiago Da Silva Mascarenhas
Co-Founder and CEO SEDA College, Vice President Chamber of Commerce Brazil Ireland
Dear SEDA Student,
On behalf of all of us in SEDA, we are truly sorry for the stress and inconvenience that the Covid-19 crisis may be causing you, your friends and your family.
The safety and the well-being of our students is our main priority, and we are working closely with our stakeholders, other language schools and the Immigration Authorities to ensure that we are in a position to provide whatever care and support we can to you at this difficult time.
On Thursday 12 March an announcement was made by the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar that all schools, pre-schools, colleges and universities would close until at least the 29 March 2020, to support efforts to contain the spread of Covid-19. We were informed that this decision was taken in the best interests of our children, our young people, our school and college communities and our wider society.
On Monday 16 March, the Irish Immigration Authorities confirmed to us that where an English language school has closed due to Government advice regarding Covid-19, all international students will be considered to have met their attendance requirement for the shutdown period. All other rules will remain in place and students will be required to renew their registrations as usual.
At SEDA College we are really concerned about the disruption that this pandemic is causing to your English Language Learning. In an attempt to minimise this disruption we have opened live online classes which run each day from Monday to Friday at all levels. We hope you will enjoy these classes.

We are aware that this is a very stressful time for many people, with a lot of companies shutting down and making workers redundant. While this situation is beyond our control, we would like to help you in whatever way we can. If you want to take a break from your course and resume it again at a later date, we are happy to facilitate you to do this. Please note however, that this must be done within the confines of your Immigration permission. Furthermore, if you need help or advice on travel options or anything to do with living and working in Ireland under these new conditions, please feel free to contact us.
We would like to reassure you that we have your best interests at heart. If there is anything that we can do to help you, please let us know.
Over the last 10 years we have faced many difficult situations and, on every occasion, thanks to our students and our people, SEDA has emerged stronger. Thank you for your patience. We are well prepared to face these challenging times and we are working hard to put the needs of our students at the forefront of all our services.
Best wishes,
Tiago Mascarenhas
