Update: New Team Member Being Born Soon

It’s been a while since our last update, and quite a lot has happened!

For starters, Qian Julie is due with our first child at the end of September. Although we (and Qian Julie in particular) are legendary in some circles for taking calls anywhere, our new — very new — boss may require us to spend more time in quiet contemplation than is usually the case!?

We have been praying and planning for this moment for quite some time, and we want to let you know that we'll be taking care of your family while we are growing our own.

The rest of our team will be available as a matter of course, and we'll be touching base with them routinely, as well as on an as-needed basis.?

In other news, Qian Julie made a splash while filling in for the advice columnist Dear Prudence on Slate. One letter-writer was seeking advice about jealousy:

“For the moment, I have taken up a new sport as a kind of stress relief and I’m practicing meditation but perhaps you have another suggestion? This is not like me and I'm hating these feelings.”
