An Update On My Story With New Chapter Since Leaving Corporate

An Update On My Story With New Chapter Since Leaving Corporate

Some of you may know this already, but I am originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil and decided to move to the US all by myself when I was 18 years old to pursue my big dreams…

?

When I was a little girl, I remember walking around the house carrying my dad’s briefcase and wearing my mom’s high heels pretending that I was a “business woman” lol

?

Even though I would say Brazil is fairly patriarchal, my dad believed the world was going to be led by women one day so he coached me up from an early age to get ready for that… to lead in big ways!

?

I remember he would save articles from a Brazilian business magazine called “Exame” that featured successful business women to show me that it was possible

?

My dream eventually became to be an executive at a big multinational company - that to me would mean that I achieved the big success I was aiming for and that I made my dad proud

?

When I was going to college, I met my amazing husband and decided to stay in the US after graduation so we could start our lives together.

?

We have now been married for almost 20 years and have an amazing 12-year old daughter together

?

After getting my MBA, I set out to start my corporate career in marketing and spent almost two decades climbing the ladder at some of the most admired companies in the world – first at Procter & Gamble, then Disney, then Airbnb

?

I achieved the dream of being an executive at a big multi-national company

?

In fact, I still remember vividly the exact day and moment that dream came true… when I found out I was being promoted to be a Director at Disney and ran to my office to call my family in Brazil to share the amazing news with them and us crying together on the phone

?

But here is the truth…

?

I completely lost myself along the way as I was climbing the corporate ladder trying to fit in

?

My mind was constantly filled with doubt, fear or insecure thoughts from the Inner Critic voice that were driving me crazy and creating never ending melodramatic novellas with the same patterns on repeat

?

I felt trapped in a never-ending rat race driven by my insatiable high-achiever’s need to earn external validation and to try to prove that I was good enough

?

All of this eventually led to burnout and a massive health-scare, when I stopped to realize that despite the “external success”, I was feeling deep down unfulfilled and wondering if this was actually the purpose of my life

?

So as I approached my mid-life chapter, I started to contemplate some big questions that took me deep into a “metamorphosis” journey

?

I started to “shed the caterpillar” as I unlearned and let go the limiting beliefs, conditioning and programming that were driving me crazy and keeping me stuck

?

As all the layers of “gunk” were being released, I started to remember who I truly am and why I am here

?

The download to create Rising Women came through during this time about 3 years ago…

?

To create a sisterhood of inspired and empowered women leaders who are here to rise together into our authentic power, purpose and potential

?

About a year ago, I decided to leave corporate and leap into my calling

?

This was perhaps even scarier than leaving Brazil all by myself when I was 18 to pursue my dreams because this move of leaving corporate required a massive identity evolution

?

You see, being a “successful corporate executive” had become a HUGE part of my identity!

?

I feel a bit ashamed to admit it but my professional titles and the companies I worked for were huge ego boosters – I thought they validated my accomplishments and more deeply proved my worthiness!

?

So how was I supposed to “leave all those parts of my identity behind” that no longer felt aligned without losing myself and not knowing yet who I would “be on the other side of the metamorphosis”?

?

How was I supposed to follow my calling to build my mission while “leaving the financial security of the corporate world” that I had worked so hard to achieve?

?

How was I supposed to fully lead myself through the highs and lows of entrepreneurship when I had learned to constantly give my power away to earn external validation and approval?

?

How was I supposed to believe that I could create a life of freedom, ease, peace, joy and abundance outside of the corporate grind when I had learned that “success” required over working, struggle and sacrifice?

?

During the past year, I have been deep in the “chrysalis” going through the most profound metamorphosis of my life while beginning to build Rising Women which has been truly magical

?

I have been deeply committed and devoted to my own growth, evolution, transformation and ascension

?

So I could fully embody the woman who is here to lead the Rising Women movement

?

My journey involved deep identity, mindset, energetics, belief, abundance, self-leadership, spiritual and quantum work

?

And I now feel ready and excited to emerge and fly as the beautiful, bold, bright, colorful, butterfly that is here to inspire other women leaders to RISE

?

My mission with Rising Women feels incredibly big and exciting! I can feel it activating and initiating every part of my being and I am so grateful and honored to be in this journey!

?

The way I lead is by journeying, learning, experimenting, and embodying first…

?

Then I love sharing what I have learned with others who feel called to go through similar journeys so I can do what lights me up the most which is to be a mentor and coach for other women leaders

?

If my story resonates with you and you would like to connect to learn more about Rising Women and the amazing ways we could journey together, I invite you to comment or send me a DM ?

?

Are you ready to rise together? Let’s gooooo! ?
