After our content production in beautiful Lech Zürs in Vorarlberg, Austria the preparations are now running for our final jury meeting. Due to covid we had to adapt our plans and the meeting will take place the upcoming weekend in the bavarian alps near Munich but we can’t wait to finally meet our amazing expert jury in person. We are looking forward to spending two days?testing and evaluation of all the submitted products and discussing the final decisions!
This season's jury consists of 12 experts from the fields of textiles, outdoor sports, sustainability and sports marketing. Here's a short introduction:
Alexa Dehmel?joins us for the second time and is the chairwomen of our jury. She is a textile researcher and passionated alpinist. She is with us because we share the goal to support?the outdoor industry to increase the number of innovative and sustainable special female products in all activities.?Alexandra Schweikart, also with us for the second time, is a textile chemist and professional climber from Austria.?She knows exactly how important good mountaineering equipment can be in real-life use.?Our long term jury member?Kim Scholze?is an outdoor and sustainability community accelerator. She?worked for a couple of years as a Community Manager at ISPO and is an outdoor woman through and through. You should check out her podcast "Spuzziness"!?Cath Prisk?supports us from Great Britain and has also been on the jury in summer 2021. Cath's passion is making the outdoors easy, especially for children, which is why she founded "Outdoor People". She has led large scale programmes, campaigns and research in the UK and globally, supporting children's space to play and independent mobility, supporting schools and other services and working with Governments, corporates and charities.?Pamela Ravasio?from Switzerland works as a sustainability implementation expert and shirahime advisor. It's her second time on the team and?her expertise goes across most consumer goods categories, and across all what ‘makes and breaks’ a company’s effort in this space. Also she's a mountain goat through and through!?One of our retail experts is?Christina Stahl. We're happy to have her again this season to support us with her Know-How working as Channel Manager at Outdoor Broker. She's a passionated powder hunter and ski advisor.?Astrid Schlüchter?is the editor in chief at SAZ Sport and knows best, what the sport branche is all about. She knows all the trends and topics that the industry should wrap it's head around. And of course she loves the great outdoors! One of the new faces on the team, but not to the industry is?Anny Cardinahl. Over the last couple of years she's been working as a?marketing/content manager to buyer to Head of Product Management. Most important: She's a user of women's outdoor gear in all kinds of sport activities.?Claar and Joanne?from Mini Expedities from the Netherlands are one of a kind: They are mostly outdoors, traveling and exploring. Therefor they've always been keen on trying out gear and finding the right equipment for literally any adventure! We're also very happy to welcome?Jacqueline Bergemann?from Austria to the jury. She works in the administrative Management at Gigasport and is a passionated mountaineer.?And last but not least there is?Lorraine Huber,?the former Freeride World Champion. Shesupports us with her know-how this season. Who could be better at testing and evaluation skiing gear and the equipment for cold winter days?
We started off with nothing but a big idea 11 month ago. We couldn't have done it without our jury and our amazing partners! Whenever we were stuck or hit the glass ceiling one of them popped up and offered help and ideas. Together we can achieve things we could never ever have dreamed of! It is a true gift to have these big players from the outdoor industry by our side and a pleasure to work with their experienced and passionated teams!
We are more than happy to have two of the biggest retailers in Germany and Austria on board. They will be presenting and displaying the winning products in in selected stores! Thanks for supporting our cause and making the connection by making the products visible and available to the consumers! Our presenting partner OUTTRA?helps by making the availability of the products in local stores visible on the brand website - and our website ;)

"Nobody understands outdoor-enthusiastic-women better than outdoor-enthusiastic-women themselves . For this reason we are pleased to?support #she is outdoors - WOMEN'S GEAR AWARD and?give an important and right impulse.“?–?Jens Kramny | Head of Management at Gigasport GmbH
"At Globetrotter we have a mission - to reach people whose hearts beat for the outside. We want to inspire and motivate these people and enable unique adventures with the right equipment. It is particularly important to us to be able to offer women the right equipment for their adventures. That was a huge challenge, especially in the early years. We are therefore very pleased to be able to support another positive step towards “equipment equality” with the WOMEN‘S GEAR AWARD and we are presenting the winners in our stores and communication channels"?– Matthias Schwarte | Head of Marketing Globetrotter Ausrüstung GmbH
