An Update From WRF

This #MemorialDayWeekend, the WRF team hosted our sixth reunion of 2023. Since January, we have been to California, North Carolina, Nevada, Oklahoma, Florida, and Montana. We hope you were able to spend time with family and friends, reflecting on the importance of remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice and those #GoldStarFamilies who sustained that loss.

So far in 2023...

WRF Gold Star Family Program

We have served more than 50 Gold Star Family members through our reunions this year. We are especially grateful to the families of the fallen from Task Force Tarawa and 3rd Battalion 5th Marines, who we honored in a special way aboard Camp Lejeune and Camp Pendleton, respectively.

We also had the distinct privilege of hosting the Gold Star Family of Marine Lance Corporal, and Silver Star recipient, Michael Hanks in the Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton area.

The Hanks family participated in a memorial hike to the crosses above Pendleton’s Camp Horno, where Michael lived and trained during his time in the Marines, with veterans and other Gold Star Families.

WRF also coordinated a series of?engaging activities to help the family commemorate a special gathering in honor of their hero.
