An update from Oh My Green

The past several weeks are like nothing that any of us could have prepared for. Like thousands of other companies, the Oh My Green team has felt a direct impact from the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to the pandemic, our team was on an incredible growth trajectory. We more than doubled our revenue in just one year. We were serving food to hundreds of businesses both small and large. And then almost overnight - it all came to a screeching halt. Ninety percent of our clients closed their sites or shifted their workforce to work from home for an undetermined period of time. The communities we serve and where our team members live are under ”shelter in place” directives. For a fast growing workplace wellbeing company, Covid-19 was the perfect storm.

Earlier this week, it became clear that we had no choice but to dramatically reduce our expenses in order to keep our company operational during this unprecedented period. We made the incredibly difficult decision to lay-off the majority of our staff and take pay cuts across our senior leadership team. And, now we need to dramatically pivot through this challenge so ultimately we can hire our full workforce back.

In the short term, a dramatic reduction in expenses and shift in our business model will keep us afloat through the quarantine period. In the longer term, the world will undoubtedly be changed coming out of this global pandemic, but one thing we can be sure of is the ongoing and amplified importance of health and well-being.

As a workplace health and wellbeing company, Oh My Green is uniquely positioned to not only capture but shape the workplace wellbeing market going forward. Our team is refocusing all our efforts on innovation for the evolved world knowing many parameters will be changed. We are now exploring alternative solutions to modify our offerings including expanding our grab-and-go smart fridge for different industries such as hospitals to provide much needed nourishment, virtual wellbeing classes for yoga and meditation, as well as developing a new home delivery model for the growing work-from-home community. Stay tuned for more.

Looking ahead, we know this is going to be an incredibly difficult road. As a wellbeing leader, the wellbeing of the team we build is forefront of my mind everyday. I’ve never been more motivated than I am today - motivated to bring back the team members we had to let go by doubling-down on our innovation pipeline to bring even more robust wellbeing services to companies across the country. I know we will be stronger together.
