An Update

An Update - I have been privileged having an enriched career path that includes being an employee and employer. My great passion is making a difference for the small business sector and therefore I formed the Small Business Association of Australia (SBAA). It is now a recognised and acknowledged national peak body. A major initiative of SBAA was the launch of the Small Business Charter of Australia launched in May, 2017. As a direct result, the first national forum comprising of 27 peak Australian business groups including SBAA was formed under the umbrella of the Australian Small Business & Family Enterprise Ombudsman. SBAA is represented on 3 committees being, 

1. Taxation, 2. IR and 3. Technology including the NBN.

In addition, SBAA has a committee seat on the Qld Energy working group & Australian Regulatory Body.

AND

I have been appointed to the Advisory Board on the International Business Discipline Advisory Group of Queensland University of Technology (QUT) that covers Advertising, International business, marketing and public relations.

In addition recent public engagements included,

1. Being speaker at QUT International Business School for visiting international students from a number of countries including the USA with the topic being Brisbane The Gateway to Asia.

2. I was also speaker at the Logan Chamber of Commerce talking about international trade.

3. And interviewed by Ben Fordham on 2GB regarding the recent Telstra outages.

The SBAA provides, 

1. Opportunities for SMEs 2. Professional Development Workshops 3. Networking Evenings currently Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sydney but being extended to Melbourne in late 2018 4. Trade Missions 5. Think Tank Small Business Policy Meetings 6. Annual Working Summit related to The Charter and Think Tank 7. SME support in times of adversity
