IMPORTANCE OF NBS AND SUSTAINABLE FINANCE IN CLIMATE ADAPTATION
16 SEPT | Online Webinar
10:00 – 11:00 CEST??
As the effects of climate change intensify, the need for effective adaptation strategies has never been more critical. Nature-based Solutions (NbS) can offer an effective solution, not only as powerful tools for climate adaptation but also contribute significantly to mitigation efforts, making them a dual-benefit approach to climate action. ? Gold Standard and Resilient Cities Catalyst have been testing Pilot Adaptation Requirements for the past two years, with developers using them to design resilient projects that proactively address future climate risks and minimise loss. Key learnings from this pilot are ready to be shared, including the pivotal role of sustainable finance, such as the?Subnational Climate Fund (SCF), in driving adaptation and the important role of nature-based solutions (NbS). ?
This webinar is an opportunity for project developers to learn how the application of the adaptation requirements can align with the current certification process under Gold Standard for the Global Goals. Participants will discover how to leverage best practice adaptation through NbS, to create synergies that enhance resilience and reduce emissions, all while impacting broader Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The discussion will cover how to secure investment in projects that deliver comprehensive adaptation and mitigation outcomes, supported by real-world case studies.? Join us to discover how integrating NbS into climate finance can drive investments that are climate-resilient, sustainable, and aligned with global goals.?
